Size Up. Find your power range.
Explore your generator requirements with kVA or kW input and live sliders for running load, power factor and headroom. Build a scenario, then send it to PPG for sizing advice.
From a number
to the right generator.
Bring your load schedule.
Choose kVA to enter apparent power directly, or kW to convert real power using your load power factor. The calculator adds your chosen headroom to the running kVA. In kVA mode, power factor changes the equivalent kW, not the running kVA. The current readout uses running kVA before headroom: kVA × 1,000 ÷ 230 for single-phase, or kVA × 1,000 ÷ (√3 × 400) for a balanced three-phase load.
Motors, pumps, compressors, welders and UPS systems may need a different generator or alternator specification. Tell us about starting methods, load steps, run hours, ambient temperature and altitude so we can assess the complete requirement.
